Who we are

A public purpose, clearly held.

The Council on Higher Education is here to build confidence in the country’s higher education system.

CHE is a statutory corporate body established by Section 4 of the Higher Education Act of 2004. Its mandate is to promote quality, assure standards and advise the Minister of Education and Training on higher education.

That work connects policy, institutions, qualifications and the people whose futures depend on a trusted system.
